Deliver Meals to Homebound - Kansas City
Pick up meals at Christ the King Senior Center, 85th and Wornall Road in Kansas City, and deliver to the homebound in the south Kansas City area. Drivers must have own car, valid license and insurance coverage and submit required papers and documentation for background checks.
St. Louis Parish Senior Center and Nutrition Site - Kansas City
Volunteers needed to help the kitchen staff packaging meals for delivery to over 120 homebound seniors and disabled individuals. Opportunity to visit with and assist seniors who come to the Center for community activities and a hot meal.
Fresh Produce for the Hungry
Catholic Charities is collaborating with The Society of St. Andrew which salvages fresh produce to feed the hungry. Volunteers are needed to glean in farmers’ fields and orchards. Gleaning is the biblical practice of gathering the fruits and vegetables left in the field or orchard after harvest to feed the poor. This is a great activity for youth groups and retirees. If you would like to volunteer, or are a farmer who would like to participate, contact gleankc@endhunger.org.
Clothes Closet Assistance - Kansas City
The clothes closet at Fr. Hix Center in northeast Kansas City helps provide individuals and families with clothes, shoes and small household items. Volunteers needed to help sort and organize donated items and direct clients while in the clothes closet.
Food Pantry Assistance – Kansas City
The food pantry at Fr. Hix Center in northeast Kansas City helps individuals and families with groceries and other necessities. Volunteers needed to help with unloading food shipments, stocking shelves, and assisting clients with their grocery pickups. Volunteers needed especially for Friday afternoons from 2 to 5 pm
