Concepts for Effective Services (CES)Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph, Inc., in 2007 received a grant award from the Administration for Children and Families. In partnership with the United Way of Johnson County, MO, a capacity building initiative known as Concepts for Effective Services (CES) will help community- and faith-based nonprofit organizations become more sustainable. This dynamic initiative by Catholic Charities seeks to strengthen and empower smaller nonprofits to increase effectiveness, build capacity, encourage collaborations and sustain programs for the long term. The hallmark of Concepts for Effective Services is a comprehensive curriculum which includes training in developing a diversified funding base, strengthening boards, sustained mentoring and technical assistance support. Participants also work one-on-one with a community coordinator throughout the process. Awardees are eligible to receive sub-grants to enhance organizational infrastructure and capacity-building systems. To learn more about CES and for assistance submitting an RFP, please click here.
