Homemaking, Personal and Respite Care Services
Catholic Charities provides homemaking, personal care and respite services to senior clients in the greater Kansas City area including Jackson, Clay and Platte counties.
- Homemaking services include tasks such as laundry, vacuuming, bath/kitchen clean-up, meal preparation and essential errands or prescription pick-up
- Personal care services include sponge bathing, shampoo, shave, nail care, dressing assistance, transfer assistance and medication reminders
- Respite and Companion Services are designed to allow free time and much-needed relief for primary caregivers. The visits offer opportunities for socialization and interaction for homebound seniors while their caregiver is away. A visit may include conversation, playing cards, enjoying a television show together, or just spending quiet time.
Service Areas and Hours
Homemaking, personal and respite care services are generally available Monday through Friday during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. When necessary, weekend visits and special times may be arranged to meet the specific needs of the client.
Assurance of Quality
Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph is accredited through the Council on Accreditation as having complied with nationally recognized standards of best practice. Senior Care Services caregivers are bonded and receive ongoing training and periodic background screenings.
