Legacy Care is an In-Home Service Program which provides opportunities to customize a care plan that is uniquely designed for the participant and family members.

Senior Care Services – Greater Kansas City
- Homemaking services include tasks such as laundry, vacuuming, bath/kitchen clean-up, meal preparation and essential errands or prescription pick-up
- Personal care services include sponge bathing, shampoo, shave, nail care, dressing assistance, transfer assistance and medication reminders
- Respite and Companion Services provide free-time and relief for primary caregivers. We visit with homebound seniors while their caregiver is away - enjoying conversation, playing cards, or spending quiet time.

Caring Communities Resource Centers
A mobile one-stop program provides health and social services to neighborhood communities with activities that promote aging in place and successful care giving. This includes:
- assessments and care plans provided by a geriatric social worker
- health screenings and education
- chronic disease self-management
- mental health counseling in group and individual sessions
- transportation
- support for caregivers

Community Denture Program
Funded by the Healthcare Foundation of Kansas City, this program provides dentures to eligible clients to enhance overall health and nutrition. Catholic Charities also assists those applying for Medicaid, providing resources and to enhance the client’s success of maintaining their independence.

Recreation and Nutrition Sites – Greater Kansas City
More than a balanced meal, Catholic Charities Senior Centers provide important opportunities for socialization and recreation at the following locations:
- St. Louis Parish, 5930 Swope Parkway, Kansas City, MO (5 days/week)
- Holy Cross Parish, 5106 St. John Avenue, Kansas City, MO (5 days/week)
- Christ the King Parish, 8510 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO (1 day/week)
A nutritious noontime meal is served. The seniors often participate in preparing home-delivered meals to homebound elderly and disabled persons. This fulfilling activity gives seniors an opportunity to give back to their community and enjoy a sense of purpose and personal satisfaction.

Senior Express Transportation Program – Kansas City and St. Joseph, MO
Catholic Charities proudly sponsors Senior Express, an innovative door-to-door transportation program for older adults who live independently in their homes. The program currently serves people 65+ living in south Kansas City and St. Joseph, Missouri, who are able to walk but unable to use public transportation.
The service allows for trips to the doctor and errands such as the grocery store, bank, beauty shop or barber. The program relies on community volunteers to serve as drivers. View Program Guidelines

Seniors@Work Employment Program – Kansas City, MO
This innovative program serves persons over age 55 with job placement and training in the Kansas City metropolitan area. The program:
- provides job training and placement for persons over 55 with limited financial resources
- provides employers with trained, motivated workers
- partners with area nonprofit agencies such as libraries, community centers, and social service agencies to train participants;

Healthy Lifestyles
Healthy Lifestyles is a program of Catholic Charities funded by the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City. It’s our way of giving access to potential life-saving health screenings to at-risk individuals such as the elderly and those with little financial resources.
Our nurse case managers visit eleven food pantry and nutrition sites throughout greater Kansas City to conduct blood pressure, height and weight checks, and diabetes screenings/assessments. Additionally, the program provides nutrition education, healthy lifestyle tips, and referrals.
